As one of the nation’s most established and experienced re-enactments societies, the Charles Edward Stuart Society host events and appearances, demonstrating both military and civilian life in 18th Century Britain.
Specialising in the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, its members represent all manner of character from militia to Highland clansmen.
Using the knowledge and skills of its members, the Charles Edward Stuart Society presents live action battle re-enactments, featuring sword-play and musket-fire, as well as accurate military drill displays, and demonstrations of camp life.
Most famously, the Charles Edward Stuart Society organises the grand weekend of celebrations marking the Jacobite occupation of Derby in 1745, each December.
